Kalmar’s rough terrain container handling solutions are designed specifically for use in the world’s most challenging environments. Our offering comprises standard and customised reachstacker and forklift solutions for remote logistics operations in industries such as oil and gas, mining, forestry, rail and laydown yards, as well as military applications.
The Kalmar RT240 is a rough-terrain reachstacker designed specifically for remote logistics operations in military and commercial applications. It has a capacity of up to 65,000 pounds, can traverse virtually any type of terrain, and is able to operate in extreme climates such as desert and arctic conditions. The RT240 has a fording capability of 60 inches. It features two-wheel, four-wheel and crab steering modes for excellent manoeuvrability on any terrain. Unladen, the RT240 can drive up to 24 miles per hour on a paved surface. It is also highly transportable – folding the machine into transport mode takes less than 20 minutes and requires no special tools. It can then be driven onto a rail car, super hauler or C-17 transport aircraft. For more information, visit the Kalmar Rough Terrain website.
The Kalmar RT022 is a rough-terrain forklift with a lifting capacity of up to 5,000 pounds. Compact enough to drive right inside a container, it also features two-wheel, four-wheel and crab steering modes for excellent manoeuvrability on even the most challenging surfaces. With side-shifting forks for container loading and unloading, and a tight turning radius of just 30 feet, the RT022 is ideal for lifting operations in tight spaces.
